 The aim of the research is the analysis ofcontemporary issues of state regulation of agro-industrial complex of Russiaand the development of proposals to solve them. The methodological basis of theresearch served as scientific methods such as a comparative analysis,compilation and systematization of theoretical material. The author points outthat in the current socio-economic conditions of the agrarian sector development is influenced by a number of new factorsthat increase uncertainty, unpredictability and tension in its development. As the results of the study in the articlepresents an analysis of the main approaches to the study of problems of stateregulation of agro-industrial complex of the Russian Federation. Besides, the author provides an overview of trends and tools of stateregulation of the Russian agro-industrial complex. On the basis of thecomparative analysis and synthesis positions of the various authors of thestudy the author formulated a list of the main problems existing at the presentstage of development of agrarian sector in the Russian Federation. Inconclusion, the author as a result of generalization and systematization oftheoretical material on the issue of research suggests some measures to improvestate regulation of the agrarian sector in Russia, in particular, are some ofthe recommendations to improve the level of food security through effectivepolicy of import substitution, development of taxation and insurance offarmers, as well as improving agricultural credit and financial relations.
