Analysis of the current state of the problem of use of antibiotics as feed additive.

The analysis of the current state of the problem of use of antibiotics as a growth stimulating feed additive in animal husbandry has been conducted. It is shown that the wide and uncontrolled use of antibiotics in 60-80 years of the last century, including those of medical appointment, such as tetracycline, streptomycin, kanamycin, penicillin, levomitsetin and others, led to the selection of microorganisms, resistant to chemotherapy, with the increase of number of multiresistant variants. The history of prohibition and current utilization of feeding form of antibiotics in different countries has been presented. Attention has been drawn to the fact that while selecting the growth stimulating preparation (drugs), it is unacceptable to orientate on the feeding form of antibiotics. Thus it is more appropriate to use probiotics.
