The distribution of cows in breeding farms of Sverdlovsk region in the degree of inbreeding
In Russia, the pure breeding has an important place in the breeding work with all animal breeds. In this case, two kinds of pairing are used: unrelated (outbreeding) and related (inbreeding). The pairing of animals, which are in a relationship, is called inbreeding. Inbreeding (German Inzucht) is a crossbreeding of closely related forms within the same population of organisms. It was used in livestock practice since the 18th century, when creating new breeds. The main purpose of inbreeding is to save hereditary characteristics of this or that outstanding ancestor. The main requirement for inbreeding is its purposefulness. Inbreeding should only be performed on defined outstanding animal. The introduction in practice of dairy farming modern achievements such as genomic estimation of breeding value of servicing bulls and embryo transfer led to extremely high rates of breeding cattle. More than 1.0 million children around the world are received from outstanding servicing bulls; a limited number of the best sires are used as fathers of the next the next generation of servicing bulls. All this has led to an increase in family relations in the best of the world population of Holstein cattle, the genetic potential of which is used to improve breeding and productive qualities of dairy cattle in the Sverdlovsk region.
