Soil conservation — the basis of agriculture intensification
The results of brief monitoring of soil conditions, transformation of land used for agricultural production are provided.
The violations of federal law requirements for the conservation of soil fertility are observed, as well as the need to strengthen
the responsibility of land users. A particular concern is expressed not only about the condition and possibility of preservation
of the agricultural production basis, that is soil fertility, but also about the adoption of emergency measures. The data are cited
about the negative human impact on the productivity of agricultural land, an unjustified transfer of land from one category
to another. Suggestions are made to reduce the negative impact of land users on soil fertility: the need for sowing siderits, use
of organic fertilizers, introduction of estimated standards of mineral fertilizers, launch of soil-protective and energy-efficient
technologies. There are also concerns about the state of mountain hayfields and pastures, which occupy half of all agricultural
lands of the country. It is shown that the failure to take emergency measures may lead to irreversible processes. In this regard,
there is a need to take effective measures for the reproduction of soil fertility, taken into account the importance of its preservation
for future generations, considering recent land relations. It seems necessary to take the following priority measures: the annual
public report entitled “The Environment of the Kabardino-Balkaria republic” must reflect the results of soil monitoring in
the country; while making contracts with land users a binding document shall become a passport of the field status, issued by
the Agrochemical department of Kabardino-Balkaria; it is necessary for authorities that conclude agreements with land users
to strengthen effective control over the observance of land use requirements.
