This paper concerns a technique for using the starting blocks by sportsmen, involved in athletics, students and schoolchildren. A sportsman makes a certain number of steps while sprinting on distances of 60 and 100 m (for example, on 100 m this number varies from 30 to 50 steps depending on the step length). Sometimes during the last step the sportsmen (students, schoolchildren) either jump or fall down. In the hurdle-race on 100 m for women and 110 for men the athletes happen to start with a very high speed and hit the first hurdle, consequently knocking the rest of hurdles. Thus the distance between the hurdles is fixed and high class sportsmen have to place their starting blocks almost in one meter from the starting line. Students and schoolchildren also take part in competitions on these disciplines, not possessing a high speed they cannot keep the pace of three steps between the hurdles that creates some difficulties. A problem of overcoming the first hurdle is solved using the laws of theoretical mechanics and biomechanics. Proposed methodology for starting from the blocks in this work was tested at the classes of physical culture, training sessions and competitions of sportsmen of different levels. The provisions described in this work were checked by the authors when using the computer simulation result for various parameters of the student or athlete and different starting positions of pads on the start line.
